WD External HD 320GBI was on my way to work when I decided to kill some time at my local Target. Usually there is always a good deal going on like the time I bought a 256 wristband usb bracelet(looks like those cancer bracelets but has a usb inside) for $20. Well, this time was no different; while sorting through the mess that is external Hard Drives I found the WD 320 GB HD for only 150.00.Well, this obviously was a sign to pick one up so I did, actually, I picked up two. The only thought leaving the store with $300 worth of hard drive space was would these work as video servers?

When looking at External Hard drives one would think that because it is linked to a USB it would be sluggish, oddly enough I couldn’t have been more wrong. With these two Hard Drives pushing through 640 GB of space they do exceptionally well as video servers in the house.  After putting on a few movies and my music on one I can skip to different parts of songs or movies with no or little slow response. The only compliant I have it does take it a minute to open and to get everything in memory, about 10 seconds. But then again what can you expect from something that runs through a USB.

Intallation was a breeze just plug and play. After removing the google apps that come on it I basically had almost all of the 320gb at my disposal. Then it was just time to drag and drop. Transfer speeds are about a Gig a minute as 55 GB of music took roughly 55 minutes not too shabby for a USb.

All in All these little powerhorses really stand up to my demands, no matter how small or big those demands might be.
