After a year of having major problems with our CMS (Content Management System) Joomla and our horrible hosting service Globat.com we have moved on to provide our members (and ourselves) the best service possible.

I am proud to say we’ve joined the best hosting company money can buy… mediatemple.net. With their unbelievable speeds and support we should have no problem staying ahead of the game anymore with updating our site and services.

Also, I am equally as proud to say we’ve since switched from Joomla to WordPress. Joomla has such limited functions and absolutely no “out-of-the-box” SEO features (that work) that there was no way  we could continue down that path. Bungie and Microsoft are offering gamers a chance to beta test Halo 3 while the game is in production. Rumor has it that if selected to be a beta tester you will also receive a “development” Xbox 360. (This will probably just be a standard Xbox 360).

We all know that a the Bawls bottle is a work of art in itself (I even have one on my tower at work), now Alan Parekh over at Hacked Gadgets makes the bottle even more pretty by turning it into an Automatic Light. Whether you’re building a DOS machine for nostalgic gaming, a replacement company computer (yes, businesses STILL use DOS), or as just a general learning experience you may have issues with font display on newer video cards. You’ll notice in an instant if you have this problem, because almost every menu in the DOS application and general alert boxes are filled with crazy ascii characters that definitely shouldn’t be there (see pic above). Everyone has a good idea at one time or another to implement a new feature in a web browser. Well, with the goodness that is Mozilla Firefox, now you can do just that. You need to have a vague understanding of XUL and Javascript, but you certainly don’t need to be a master of either. When I started, I knew nothing about either one, really. I had seen some bookmarklets here and there, and tried to figure out just how they worked. Well, that’s how I made my first extension, BugMeNot.

For those not familiar with Google Hacking, it is not actually “hacking” Google by any means. Google Hacking is merely just using the functionality of Google search to its fullest by passing queries to find virtually any file (music, movies, documents, etc.), unprotected web cams, and even passwords (that could be bad)!
